There are many reasons why people require the convenience of an extended stay hotel. Business travelers working on a lengthy assignment away from home would rather stay in one place than move from hotel to hotel, for example. Those who are relocated with their company may have an entire family to move with them, and an extended stay hotel provides temporary housing while they seek a new, permanent home. Whatever your reason for seeking a place to stay for an extended period of time, these hotels are just what you’re looking for.
You can expect your room at an extended stay hotel to be a suite, where you’ll have a full kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, and work area at least. Most suites will also include a sitting room, television, internet access, and some even include in-suite laundry facilities. Other hotels will offer a laundry service that may or may not be included in the room rate. Before you book, check to make sure the hotel you’ve chosen offers all of the amenities and services you’ll need.
In North America, there are several good extended stay hotel chains. Residence Inn is credited with the concept of extended stay, and is owned by Marriott Hotels. They offer complimentary hot breakfasts, nightly social hours, and weekly barbeques for all of their guests, and every room is a suite. Marriott also owns three other extended stay brands; TownePlace Suites, Marriott ExecuStay, and Marriott Executive Apartments.
Choice Hotels International also operates an extended stay brand called MainStay Suites. In addition to all of the amenities you’d expect from this type of hotel, many locations also offer a swimming pool and gym for their guests, as well as free continental breakfast each day.
Other extended stay hotel chains include Extended Stay America, Sun Suites, Sierra Suites, Studio 6, and Candlewood Suites. There are literally dozens more, and you can find them all online with a quick search. You can make your reservations at any extended stay hotel directly over the phone, online, or through a travel agent.
If you’re taking a long vacation, relocating, going on a lengthy business trip, or have any other reasons to make a hotel your temporary home, extended stay hotels can provide all of the comforts you need. With such a wide variety of hotel chains competing for your business, you’re sure to find a location that will suit you!
